Welcome to Haxby Runners
We're a friendly local running club for all abilities, based in Haxby, York. Whether you're chasing a new PB or just want to get out of the house and move a bit, there's a place for you here.
The Haxby 10K returns on Sunday 16th May 2027, a flat, fast, UK Athletics licensed road race starting from Oaken Grove Community Centre. Run it, run/walk it, race it or just get round it, we'd love to see you there. And if you'd like to get a few miles in beforehand, your first few runs with us are completely free.
Our story
Haxby Runners started life in April 2020, during lockdown, as a simple way for a few people to stay active and keep some sort of connection with the outside world. Turns out a lot of people needed exactly that, and what began as a handful of runners has grown into a proper community, one that runs, trains, socialises and races together throughout the week.
Whatever your pace or experience, there's a place for you here. Your first few runs are completely free, so come along and see how you feel. And if you love it (we think you will), we'd love to have you on board as an official member.

Our Runs
We have regular runs throughout the week which are inclusive. If it’s your first time running or have been running for two decades, there’ll be something for you.

Affiliation
We'd love you to join Haxby Runners. Affiliation means you become a recognised member with England Athletics, which brings a whole host of benefits.

Haxby 10k
We were proud to host the Haxby 10K in May 2026. The flat and fast course proved perfect for PBs with 632 finishers. Check out the photos and find out more.
