Become an affiliated member

We'd love to have you join Haxby Runners officially — and here's why it's worth doing.

There's no charge to come along to a few runs and get a feel for things, and we'd never want anyone to feel pressured. But as you settle in and become part of the community, we do hope you'll consider becoming an affiliated member.

Affiliation means you become a recognised member with England Athletics, which brings with it a whole host of benefits. In 2025/26, England Athletics receive £20 from each membership, with the remainder going directly to Haxby Runners to help us keep the club running and growing.

There are plenty of good reasons to make it official — and we'd love to have you properly on board.

Why become affiliated?

  • National retail discounts

    Get money off at national retailers like sportshoes.com — because decent kit shouldn't cost a fortune.

  • Race entry discounts

    Benefit from reduced entry fees to the majority of races, and sometimes special access to league events.

  • Local discounts

    We've built up a great range of discounts with local suppliers, including physiotherapists, podiatrists, sports energy products, Curious Coffee, Quinns, and Up and Running in York — with more in the pipeline.

  • Ballot entries

    You have the chance to enter national races like the London Marathon through an additional ballot if you were unsuccessful in the main draw. Local races such as the Brass Monkey Half Marathon in York are also included.

  • Club kit

    Pull on the club colours and represent Haxby Runners properly. Members can choose from a range of quality vests, hoodies and other merchandise — there's something pretty special about lining up on a race start line in your club vest.

  • Club support

    Part of your membership fee goes directly back into the club. It helps us train and develop our run leaders, kit out our runs with proper safety equipment, introduce new and specialised sessions, and hold regular club meetings where members can shape the direction of the club. Basically, it keeps Haxby Runners growing and sustainable for years to come.

If you want full affiliation and you want Haxby Runners to be your second club, choose this option. This membership includes England Athletics registration.

Social Member

£20/year

This membership allows access to most club runs and the local benefits and allows you to contribute to the clubs development. This membership does not include England Athletics registration.
